The main message of this talk is to think of the library management system as a whole school resource so that is more cost effective as a resource management system and also a starting point for any project based learning, especially when a cross curricular approach is taken

Some useful information about choosing a library management system can be found here

The leaflet on choosing a library management system (LMS) is Number 8 in a series of free brochures for school librarians produced by the School Libraries Group (SLG) of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP).

Companies providing this software for schools in the UK include:
AccessIt Library,
Heritage,
Infiniti Concord,
Koha,
Libresoft,
Oliver (Softlink),
Peragamon Mu,
Reading Cloud (Capita),
Simple Little Library System (Bailey Solutions)

There are others more commonly used overseas and by international schools such as Destiny (Follet) and Manderin
